POLITE PROJECT

POLITE Newsletter now also in Italian, Polish, Czech and Latvian

Consisting of an international consortium from across Europe, the POLITE project endeavours to disseminate its results widely. To this aim, POLITE partners have decided to publish the project newsletters, in addition to English, also in the languages of the participating partners - Italian, Polish, Czech and Latvian. You can download the 1st issue of the newsletter in these languages from the Public Documents section.

The newsletter is one of the five issues which will keep readers regularly informed about progress and developments, as well as events in which POLITE has participated or will participate. This first issue gives an overview of all POLITE sites, presents the project’s objectives, and provides a short introduction to the concept of infomobility. In addition to that, each site has conducted an interview with a local expert in transport. Take a look!

INTERREG IVC Capitalisation Workshop gathered sustainable transport projects from around Europe including POLITE

In line with the motto “learning by sharing”, the INTERREG IVC programme gathered 15 projects in sustainable transport to share experiences. The Thematic INTERREG IVC Capitalisation initiative is an approach that focuses on collecting, analysing and disseminating the thematic knowledge gained from projects working on the same topic. The objectives are:

  • to better exploit the knowledge resulting from projects working on a similar topic for the benefit of local and regional authorities in Europe.
  • to increase the visibility of the programme and its impact on the policy making process at regional, local, national and European levels.

After an informative session where each project presented its aims and achievements so far, the participants moved to a more dynamic afternoon with a thematic brainstorming session.

POLITE first newsletter informs about the benefits of infomobility

The newsletter is one of the five issues which will keep readers regularly informed about progress and developments, as well as events in which POLITE has participated or will participate. This first issue gives an overview of all POLITE sites, presents the project’s objectives, and provides a short introduction to the concept of infomobility. Infomobility services collect transport information through ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) and thus lead to improved mobility of persons and goods. By bringing together partners with different experiences in the field of infomobility, POLITE aims to replicate best practices around Europe and contribute to harmonising ITS standards and solutions. In an interview with Simon Beasley, Network Manager from Reading Borough Council (UK), he presents the UTMC initiative, a UK approach for the development of open ITS specifications in urban areas, and talks about the benefits of interoperability. RBC will serve as a good practice example in the project. POLITE will also be present at the ITS World Congress and the Annual Polis Conference with dissemination material.
